If you’re cool (and I think you are), check out this link. It’s a TIME Photo Essay illustrating the food families will eat in one week according to which part of the world they live in. Check it out!
this is amazing. i can not believe that the u.s. eats so much junk food and it is crazy to see that other countries have a healthier life style than us.
wow. germany spends $500.00 in U.S. every week. Kinda depressing how some of the third world/developing countries use only 5-100 U.S. dollars. i'm curious to c how much korea spends =D
I like how the mexicans have an entire row of just soda so true mexico is the country that drink the most soda at least they box cereal which i didn't see much I want to go to italy now!
The thing that skews these results is the price of food in their respective countries.
I know that in Egypt(from a friends experience), a luxurious five-course dinner can cost like 7 dollars, while in America, that's how much a quesadilla costs at La Salsa.
As far as what I saw, I was surprised. I expected the US to be as high as what Germany was, yet the US was closer to Great Britian and Sicily.
As far as what Enrique said: everybody in the world drinks more soda than these picked families. Americans drink more by volume just because of our nations size, yet every country in the world has similiar soda drinking rates.

soda in darfur? hmmm... but on a serious note yeah it's true. plus there's families who buy soda for groceries but still drink soda when going out. im starting to think that soda is more popular than alcohol but i obviously could be mistaken.

I'm not cool but I had a look at it anyway. I wonder how much of our excess food will go to developing countries if we do decrease our consumption.
